Welcome Indiana Credit Union League Managers Conference Attendee

By finding this blog it confirms one of the following:

a) The content was not as boring as you thought it would be.
b) You found the content to be controversial so you thought you would give me your thoughts.
c) You were curious and thought I wonder if he really does have this blog?
d) I hit you in the head with the Frisbee and now it is time to pay me back.

Well, hopefully you found the content to be thought provoking and you want to continue our conversation on how to make more credit union loans. Hey, I am all for that and thank you for tuning in to read and contribute. Did I mention, contribute? Yes, contribute - the success of this blog depends on you to share your thoughts and ideas. Plus, no one will tune in if it is just me rambling on about how to do more loans.

I first came up with the idea for this blog after speaking at the CU Conferences Focus on Lending annual event in Colorado Springs. I was energized by the speakers at this conference including Rory Rowland (Mr. Bean), Ed Swanson from Patelco (Don't ask him about the muffins at the Hilton), and Tim Lerew. I went to lunch with Rory after my presentation and over Subway sandwiches I mentioned my idea for this blog. I told Rory I wanted this blog to focus on credit union lending from a macro viewpoint and how credit unions need to innovate in the area of lending. I did not want this blog to replicate anything that the CUNA Lending Council Listserv does as their Listserv does a marvelous job at handling day-to-day types of inquiries and questions. Why duplicate something that is already meeting the need - Red Ocean! I was not aware of a virtual forum that focused on the big picture items in the world of credit union lending. As a result, here it is. This could be the most obscure short-lived blog in the history of the Internet or it could be the start of something. Who knows. I do know that we are out nothing to give it a shot since the blog software is free and it takes just a little bit of time to converse. Take a look at all of the topics covered in the blogging world - surely credit union lending is more important than most of these. I won't mention specific blog topics because some of them are just down right strange.

As I speak at conferences I do plan on posting comments about the presentations and the feedback garnered from these sessions. Thanks again, for taking the time to find this and please, let me know what you are thinking.
